Lenovo Ultrabook

Ultrabooks are a higher-end type of sub-notebook conceptualized by Intel and opted by all brands. Ultrabooks are designed with reduced size. They are less than 2.1 cm in thickness and weighs less than 1.5 kg. And all these modification are done without compromising performance and an improved battery life. They use low-power Intel processors with integrated graphics. The Ultrabooks are wrapped in a unibody chassis to fit larger batteries into smaller cases. Some models have limited external ports in order to their extremely thin profile. Some also don't have CD-ROM. Intel by taking this marketing initiative hoped to influence the slumping PC market against rising competition from tablet computers, which are typically powered by competing ARM-based processors. The Ultrabook are directly pitted against Apple's MacBook Air, which has similar form specifications and is powered by Intel CPUs. They run on Mac OS X but are capable of running Microsoft Windows like the Ultrabooks.

Lenovo is one the early player in Ultrabook segment. Lenovo's slim Ultrabook laptops offer the award-winning combination of reliability, style, speed and battery life for mobile PC professionals. Going ahead we will discuss some of the Lenovo Ultrabooks. First one is the Lenovo U310 with an Intel Core i5-3317U processor, which runs at 1.7GHz and can reach 2.6GHz with Turbo Boost and HD 4000 graphics. The ultrabook includes a reasonable amount of DDR3 1600MHz memory at 4GB. On the storage side of things, Lenovo opted for a 500GB hard drive at 5400RPM, rather than a straight-up SSD. But it also included 32GB of SSD cache. The combo is designed to approximate SSD speeds and helps it provide a faster boot-up time along with faster overall speeds. The U310 doesn't have any optical drive, but it does have an SD card reader, which is handy of course. It also has a LAN port and built-in Wi-Fi, as well as Bluetooth. There is also an HDMI port, three USB ports, a 720p web cam, and standard mic/headphone ports in it.

The second among the Lenovo Ultrabook is U510. It comes under IdeaPad Series lineup of Ultrabooks. It is first 15-inch model running on the Windows 8. The laptop will be available with up to a Core i7 Ivy Bridge CPU, up to 8GB of RAM and a 500GB, 750GB or 1TB hard drive and optional 24/32 GB SSD cache. Connections include USB 2.0, USB 3.0, VGA and HDMI, and there's an SD card reader as well. The X1 Carbon is the another latest Lenovo Ultrabook. Lenovo Thinkpad has been best among professional laptops. Now to make it more light, portable and powerful, Lenovo has launched its first Ultrabook in Thinkpad section. These Ultrabooks brings a new level of quality to the ThinkPad legacy of high standards and innovation. It has a durable, carbon fiber-reinforced roll cage, making it the best Ultrabook construction available, along with a host of other new features on top of the old favorites.
